Malibu Home in Architectural Digest

A few months ago an agent at another Malibu real estate brokerage asked me to come and shoot a house that he had for sale. Not just any house but a $24,000,000 Malibu beach house! I spent several days shooting it, both day and night and created a website that was SEO optimized using Showit. The most important shot can be seen below. This is the “money shot” and it took about an hour to get it and about 2 hours in post. The house has now sold ( in less than 3 months) and as an added bonus this shot made Architectural Digest’s Editor’s Choice Section. Website Here

New Point Dume Listing NOT in the MLS

Newly remodeled Point Dume home on Bluewater with ocean and mountain views, large yard, gated, private, and close to the sandy shores of Point Dume. This Malibu home  features a few very unique qualities..The home has new copper piping and a filtration system that removes fluoride from the water. Coolest House On Caravan

Thursday is caravan day in Malibu. That’s when all the agents go out and see the new real estate listings on the market and try to score a free meal (food is sometimes served..it should be mandatory!). Truth be told, there’s a lot of homes that you’ll forget about minutes after leaving. Every once in while one really sticks out and last week I ran in to one of those where kept repeating in my mind, “WOW This house is really freakin’ great!”   The home at 6400 Bonsall has to be one of the coolest small homes I’ve seen in a while and several of the agents that walked in were saying the same thing. Also, at one of our office meetings, it was voted as best house on caravan. Enough said…go see it!  The Spanish style home has been extensively remodeled and is located on a large piece of land complete with pool, waterfall, tennis court, and mature trees. Significant Malibu Home Sale $40m PLUS!

The Malibu Real Estate blog first reported about the Daly house several months ago here. The home sold last week for what may turn out to be the highest sales price of a Malibu home for all of 2010. It came on the market at $57m and was reduced $10m a short time later. The Malibu beach house, located on Carbon Beach, is rumored to have sold for more than $40,000,000 ! More info at the WSJ here.

Numerous other sales might surprise you too! A house in the Colony closed for above $20m and another above $18m. The high end is he most active portion of the Malibu Real Estate market right now!

Malibu Real Estate Market Heats Up!

Malibu Real Estate Market Update!……

The real estate market is alive and well. Inventories are down from last year, the days on market are shortening, and homes are being sold! Condos, Land, and Malibu Homes are all starting to see action. 40 plus properties are listed as pending, back up , or have sold in the last 30  days.  Low priced condos are being purchased with one notable unit coming on the market this week under $300k at the Malibu Gardens. Point Dume is seeing a lot of action with numerous escrows in the works with some very large numbers. I personally have one in escrow where the asking was $12,500,000 for a piece of land and there is a rumored deal going down on another Point Dume home around $13m. Managers at several brokerage are all stating that the agents are much busier than last year and the cash buyers are really out in force! If there ever was a time to buy, it seems like now may be it.
