If you are seeking a Malibu beach home for sale somewhat away from the P.C.H. and the annual deluge of summer beachgoers, Broad Beach is the place where many have taken refuge. With its location at the western end of Malibu, Broad Beach enjoys a unique quietness because of the remote location. With expansive amounts of dry sand, and rolling, grass covered dunes, Broad Beach looks as though it belongs on the East Coast especially with the high number of traditional and Cape Cod style homes dotted along the shore.
Broad Beach is approximately one mile long with 108 home sites on the sand and a few located on the bluffs. Broad Beach Road was once used as the original Pacific Coast Highway before the highway was relocated to the bluff above. With PCH high above the Broad Beach homes, residents here rarely hear any traffic noise from the busy highway. Broad Beach sits between Zuma Beach to the east and Trancas Point to the west. It is located a quick 15 minutes away from Malibu Pier and to reach Santa Monica one should allow about 1 hour for travel during non-peak commute times.
Most Broad Beach Malibu homes for sale have lots around 40 feet wide, but many residents at some point took advantage of acquiring a neighbor’s lot and 80 to 120 foot wide lots can be found among the original homes. Broad Beach also has some of the deepest lots in all of Malibu, with many between 200 and 300 feet in length. Many Broad beach residents use the road to walk over to the newly remodeled shopping center at Trancas to make living at this end of Malibu like a getaway from all the hustle and bustle of town, yet within easy reach of all the daily conveniences.

There are a few more Broad beach homes that may come on the Malibu real estate market under $8m, but it’s a challenge to find such deals. Most finished Broad Beach homes for sale range in price from $10m to $30m depending on the square footage and more importantly, the width of the lot.
