Latigo Shore Drive is located just off PCH, west of Corral Canyon. It once was the original Roosevelt Highway before being moved to the bluff above. Here, you will find one of Malibu’s largest condo complexes know as Tivoli Cove. This well-kept complex is resort-like in many ways with lush tropical foliage, tennis courts, pools, and a private beach complete with kayak storage and barbecues. Every unit features ocean views and the beach can be reached within minutes from anywhere in the complex. Units here are denoted in the MLS with the name of the tiny street they are located on….Seagull Way.
Prices start around $650k for a small unit on the back row and units on the lowest tier near the water’s edge can fetch over $1m.
Further down Latigo Shore Drive lies the beach house community that sits on one of the area’s best surfing point breaks. Surfers and paddle boarders zip by the decks of the beach homes here at high tide and almost all residents enjoy some sort of water activity. There are numerous original beach houses built in the 40’s here and several “legacy” families who have resided on the street for decades. Those homes are easily recongnizable with their classic beach house vibe complete with surfboards stacks under the decks, numerous watercraft on the beach, and fences full of lobster pot buoys and cool driftwood.
Latigo Shore residents enjoy a very rare type of tight-knit community that could only be found in a few other spots in Malibu. People that buy beach homes here tend to stay a very long time and this is the primary reason so few homes ever come on the market at Latigo.
Both the condos and the beach homes at Latigo make excellent investments and are easily rentable. If you surf, it is the next best community, besides Point Dume, to live in. Much of life here revolves around the surf and tides.
Prices for Latigo beach homes on the sand start around $6m.
