One of the best kept secret beach communities in Malibu is the quaint, exclusive and very private, Sea Level Beach. Located just up from Trancas Point, Sea Level Drive is the only place in Malibu where a private road runs down to the sand with beach homes on one side and small beautiful gardens on the other. This community is one of the few in Malibu where a gated entrance must be crossed in order to access the properties.
This is among the tightest knit communities in all of Malibu. The kind of place where residents can be seen walking around at sunset with a glass of wine in hand while kids or pets roam the beach. Kayaks and beach chairs are left in the sand with little concern about their whereabouts the next day. Here at Sea Level, privacy and security is easy to maintain with little public access in the immediate area.
Sea Level beach has numerous Traditional and Cape Cod homes and most seem to be designed with casual, beach entertaining in mind with large outdoor decks filled with comfy outdoor furniture. During the 4th of July, the residents have one giant neighborhood party with an open door policy to any of the other residents.
Sea Level Beach is also an ideal place for anyone who enjoys long beach walks. At the end of Sea Level Beach Road lies some of the most scenic walking beaches in all of Malibu, an area generally referred to as the Encinal Bluffs. Numerous rock outcroppings, tide pools, and sea caves can be found along this dramatic section of Malibu’s coastline.
Home prices on Sea Level start in the $6m range and go as high as $10m. Homes perched on the bluff above the beach start around $4m and some have direct beach access via stairs.
