Malibu Home Sale Tops Forbes 10 Most Expensive Home Sales Of 2007
Courteney Cox-Arquette and husband David Arquette turned quite a profit in the sale of their modern Malibu home. The couple bought the house in 2001 for $10.1 million and sold it in early August to Los Angeles Dodgers owners Frank and Jamie McCourt for $33.5 million. The mansion sits directly on the Pacific Ocean and has four bedrooms over its 4,486 square feet of space. That’s a $23.4 million dollar increase in 6 years!
That’s quite a nice return on their original investment, not to mention that the house was also designed by one of the best architects.
A timeless beauty for sure and a smart investment.It reminds me a bit of some of the places in Big Sur like The Post Ranch Inn or some of the new private residences above the Bixby Bridge.
Why say in the headline that it “Tops” the Forbes list? It came in at #9. If they had included Johnny Carson’s $38m sale, it would have been #10–not even the top of Malibu’s 2007 list! It’s a great house, and doesn’t need to be puffed up with hyperbole.
That’s a good point! Not sure why they headlined it that way.
