Ok…if you are a surfer then I don’t need to explain much about my new listing because you totally “get it”. If you don’t surf let me tell you a little bit about what makes my Hollister Ranch home for sale so amazing.

Hollsiter Ranch is a 14,400 acre private, gated section along the Santa Barbara coastline about 30 minutes North of Bacara Resort above Santa Barbara. The best way to describe it is this…it’s looks like Malibu 100 year ago before the masses got here. The Malibu Real Estate blog first reported about the Daly house several months ago here. The home sold last week for what may turn out to be the highest sales price of a Malibu home for all of 2010. It came on the market at $57m and was reduced $10m a short time later. The Malibu beach house, located on Carbon Beach, is rumored to have sold for more than $40,000,000 ! More info at the WSJ here.

Numerous other sales might surprise you too! A house in the Colony closed for above $20m and another above $18m. The high end is he most active portion of the Malibu Real Estate market right now!

The bank owned home may be the most expensive piece of real estate for sale that comes under the “distressed” category in of Malibu. The Carbon Mesa home for sale mentioned a week ago on this blog had offers on it right away and is listed as ” Backup” status on the MLS. The Malibu home for sale was once listed as high as $2,950,000 and hit the market at $1,141,000.
